In "My Ulysses Project" I have the intent to follow my Ulysses on his second voyage, to seek peace first of all with Poseidon, but also the other Gods in the hope that they will not permanently withdraw from our presence as Heidegger thought they would do...
Why My Ulysses Project
William Wordsworth
Well the reason for initiating another Ulysses project is that I have been, as Wordsworth a long time ago, with the state of our culture and our relationship with nature. This poem should be properly read to you of course so please try this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?. (The text by the way, is read by Sean Barett, the best reading I have ever heard, and one that fits our times)
The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon,
The winds that will be howling at all hours,
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers,
For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
It moves us not.--Great God! I'd rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.
